Gynn Construction was formed in 1985 by partners David Derry, Alan Gynn & Tony Gynn and became a Limited Company in 1998. Members of the Federation of Master Builders and the NHBC, Gynn Construction Ltd has a reputation for being one of the best independent builders in Cornwall.

The company is now run by David Derry & Alan Gynn. Kevin Derry joined us in 2010 as Contracts Manager and our team also includes Keith Vercoe as Joinery Manager and Mark Joliffe as Buyer. We have a Joinery Department where we manufacture many made to measure items for our contracts and also undertake specialist projects including handmade doors, staircases and windows to order.

We have a diverse experience in all areas of building, civil engineering and joinery and have completed a wide variety of projects including Industrial Units, Housing – private & public, Commercial developments, Redevelopments, Apartments, Refurbishment and renovation of old buildings. We employ specialist Sub Contractors for Mechanical & Engineering works, roof slating and plastering but undertake all other aspects of our contracts ourselves with our team of skilled operatives supervised by our experienced Site Agents and are proud of the quality of our product.

We have been responsible for the construction of commercial buildings for some of Cornwall’s largest companies including Gul International, St Merryn Meats, Bristol Fruits, County Heating, St Austell Brewery, Sharps Brewery, Jewsons and Dameralls Motorcycles. We have also built Call Centre premises for The Number in Langage, Plympton.

Other contracts over the years have included 38 luzury villas at St Moritz, Trebetherick, Council Offices for NCDC at Wadebridge, a large Nursing Home at Launceston for Cornwall Care, a Hotel at Lanhydrock Golf Club, hotel conversions to apartments at Trevone and Trebetherick and most notably the re-development of Wadebridge riverside with the Camelside apartments and the Town Quay project including shops, offices and 40 apartments.

More recently the development at Pinewood, Polzeath of 11 luxury houses and six affordable for Westcountry Housing Association has involved major siteworks including demolition, piling and re-inforced concrete structures to enable underground parking.

We are currently negotiating the Contract for 73 dwellings on the riverside at Wadebridge which again will involve major siteworks, sea defence works and piling.

We have completed numerous smaller housing projects in North & Mid Cornwall for private clients many of which are superb high spec homes and undertake New build, Demolitions & replacement, and Renovation. We are also able to offer a design and build service.
